Diversity & Inclusion Initiatives
From our Stores to our Distribution Centers and our Corporate office, we are a team. We believe the best teams not only share common goals and values, but they also need a diverse set of skills, perspectives and experiences to truly succeed. It’s important that our teammates reflect the athletes and communities we serve, and we’re working hard to make sure they do. We actively seek to hire a diverse workforce to promote and celebrate inclusion and diversity. Doing so strengthens our ability to serve all our athletes, drives innovation and growth, and enables us to attract and retain the best talent.
Launched in 2019, our Inclusion & Diversity Council is made of teammates who represent a variety of backgrounds, roles and communities. This diverse group of individuals are inclusive of corporate, distribution center, and field teammates. They will be providing insights and ideas to ensure we have inclusive workplace that respects and values differences. The Council meets quarterly to help foster an open dialogue within our diverse and broad teammate population.
Stemming from teammate suggestions, DICK’S created ‘Impact Teams’. These teams will work together to make an impact in our organization and communities. Each team focuses on implementing one of the following strategy items: educate, hire & develop, power of our business, civic action and investigation & analysis.
Inclusion takes a village and relies on the unique strengths and interests of all teammates. DICK’S created an extension of our I&D Council, the 5 Court Side Teams, to help us drive to inclusion across the entire organization. The 5 Court Side Teams are open to all teammates who want to reflect on their own inclusion and diversity journey and to help others begin to progress further.
